POSTED May 30, 2018 10:20 a.m.

The Richland Center Tourism Committee’s first annual “Wright of Spring” this coming Saturday, June 2, 11:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., is a celebration of Food, Fun and Fantasy in downtown Richland Center.

This event, which complements the “Wright and Like – Coming Home” house tour being held in Richland Center and Spring Green, will be staged on Court Street and Central Avenue in downtown Richland Center. Come celebrate the art and architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright in the town of his birth, along with food vendors, a vintage vehicle show and music.

Guests are encouraged to dress in period costume – 1900s through 1950s. We are especially seeking vehicles that pre-date World War II, but all vintage vehicles are encouraged to participate.

The three musical offerings for the event are Ann Christoffer, playing at 11:00 a.m.; The Yellowbellied Sapsuckers, at approximately 1:00 p.m.; and Kickapoo Joy Juice, at 2:30 p.m.  All are based in the Driftless area of Southwest Wisconsin and are known as unique and talented performers. You don’t want to miss this line-up!

Food selections include Pine River Smoke, chopped pork BBQ; Quail Run, featuring chicken prepared by chef Corey Everts; The Dawg House, hot dogs and cheese curds; Kelly’s Coffee, including a vegetarian dish; The Press Box, corn on the cob and sandwiches; The Diner, street tacos and slushies; and Tienda Mexicana Oasis featuring their famous tamales. NHS will be holding an ice cream social at The Park Apartments adjacent to the Richland Area Farmer’s Market.

Richland Rocks will have rock painting, with a Frank Lloyd Wright theme, and county 4-H clubs are doing window painting with a similar theme. There will be prizes for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners.

Stairway to Wellness will be holding an open house at their studio on Court Street as well.

Be sure to look for Jonathan Bee and his High Wheel Bicycle tooling around the downtown.
