Police identify man who died early Wednesday

PLATTEVILLE — Platteville police have identified the 28-year-old Platteville man who died early Wednesday morning.

Steven Todd Rech was found unresponsive in the front yard of a house on the 500 block of West Cedar Street just before 3 a.m., according to Platteville police.

Police performed CPR on Rech. He was taken by Platteville EMS to Southwest Health Center, where he was pronounced dead.

A police news release said "due to the nature of the death" police are investigating, and an autopsy is being performed. The release also said that the death "appears to be an isolated incident and there is no immediate danger to the public."
