The stretch of near-100-degree temperatures, which began two weeks ago, coincided with the first coats of asphalt on Water Street between East Main Street and Pine Street. (The asphalt was hotter than the air temperature.) Construction continues on Water Street as part of the Wisconsin 80 project from Platteville to Livingston.
