Ribbon cut at new Kwik Trip location

DARLINGTON - The Towne House opened again for business on Wednesday, July 6. Nathan Brown from New Diggings, jumped at the chance to take over the restaurant. He has been in the restaurant business for 15 years and helped manage Vinny Vanucchi's in Galena and Dubuque.

World of Variety closing its doors for good

DARLINGTON - The World of Variety store in Darlington will be closing soon. Storeowner Mike Mudler commented that it could be as soon as the end of August or whenever the merchandise can be out of the building. Some of the merchandise may go over to the other World of Variety store in Fennimore also owned by Mudler and his wife, Alice. Mudler stated that personal reasons are for the closing of the store. No offers have been made on the purchase of the building once World of Variety has vacated.

BOSCOBEL - The 2016 Boscobel Farmer's Market is off to a great start. Twelve vendors were present last Saturday, June 18, with a wide variety of products. Available for customers were everything from meat and eggs to leather, wood, and soap products. Strawberries, onions, and radishes have been available for the last few weeks, and now peas and beans as well. Several types of greens, from a few vendors, have made salad making a cinch.
