CUBA CITY-"Thriving communities don't just happen on their own," Jason Scott of the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) said at Friday's ceremony recognizing individuals and businesses who contributed to improvements in the Cuba City community that earned the city a Downtown Revitalization Award from the WEDC.

President Trump shield added to Main Street

CUBA CITY - President Donald Trump was added to Cuba City's City of Presidents display along Main Street last week. The shield featuring his name, birth state and term dates as well as his silhouette has been installed. The 45th president is displayed near the intersection of Yuba and Main streets.

Winners announced in fire prevention poster contest

DICKEYVILLE-The Grant County winners of the 2016 fire prevention poster contest were awarded certificates and prize money at a ceremony at the Dickeyville-Paris Fire Department on April 11. The contest is open to students in kindergarten through eighth grade. Those winning first in their grade level at the local fire departments move on to the county competition. The posters placing first in each grade level at the county level proceed to the state contest.

Cuba City earns state recognition

CUBA CITY – Cuba City was recognized for its outstanding downtown revitalization efforts at the 26th Wisconsin Main Street Awards ceremony on April 7 in Wisconsin Rapids. Cuba City took top honors in the Downtown Revitalization category for a city with under 5,500 residents.
