Benefit performance of ”next to normal” Friday

The UW–Platteville Heartland Festival is doing a special benefit performance of "next to normal" in the Center for the Arts Theatre Friday, June 27 at 7:30 p.m. All tickets are $10, and proceeds will go to the Platteville Tornado Relief Fund. Despite weather in the 60's, perfect for a day outdoors, an attentive crowd gathered to hear Larry Snitzler, classical guitarist. UW–Platteville held auditions for this summer's Heartland Festival Saturday afternoon. That is, UWP held auditions for children able to make it to the Center for the Arts for roles in "Shrek the Musical." Auditions for adults were postponed for Saturday from 3:30 to 6 p.m., and children entering fourth through eighth grades who were unable to make Saturday's original tryout can try out Saturday from 3 to 3:30 p.m. Organizers will contact adults on the audition list to reschedule a time for Saturday.
