Gays Mills library launches into summer

POSTED June 10, 2017 12:41 p.m.

The Gays Mills Public Library launches the Build a Better World Summer Library Program on June 14 at 10 a.m. with a Super Heroes for a Better World program. The program is aimed at children from four to seven years old and will include a super hero crafts, identifying your super power, as well as a super hero training camp.

On June 28, the library will host a We Love Pollinators program that explores caterpillars and butterflies through the book ‘The Hungry, Hungry Caterpillar.’ Again, the program is suitable for children four to seven years old and will include crafts, games and stories.

On July 12, we will have a mapping adventure with a program called My Place in the World. On July 28, the library will host a program called Build Your Own Fun that will include building straw rockets, spinners, toy teepees and more.

Library programs don’t work for all families so there will be drop-in programs running in June and July as well. There will be a Lego© checkout tower challenge to create as tall a tower as possible over the summer. Every time a child checks out books at the library they will be able to add to the tower.

In June, a variety of scavenger hunts will be available on a weekly basis. In July, children who drop by can participate in Spy Club. Each week in July there will be a spy challenge. Complete each challenge for your Spy Certificate.

For more information on these and other ongoing programs feel free to visit the library website, www.gaysmillslibrary.org, drop by the library or contact us by email (motis@swls.org) or phone (735-4331).
