Lone Rock cyclone centennial noted

POSTED June 6, 2018 10:06 a.m.

Recently, the Lone Rock Community Building was the site of A Remembrance of the 1918 Cyclone, coordinated by the Lone Rock Area Historical Society.

Keynote speaker was 38-year WKOW Meteorologist Bob Lindmeier, who provided an overview of the deadliest and costliest tornadoes in Wisconsin’s recorded history. He noted that the Lone Rock cyclone was not among them and he stated that the terms tornado and cyclone are synonymous.

Read about it in the June 7, 2018 issue of The Richland Observer.
