GAME OF THE WEEK (April 12–18)

OUTDOOR TRACK & FIELD: 

Lancaster Invitational, Thursday, April 12, 4:15 p.m.

     This spring has been rough, filled with snow, rain and unseasonably frigid temperatures, causing a slew of postponements and cancellations. Area teams were finally get back to competition Tuesday with warmer, drier weather and hope to continue this week.

      Lancaster is scheduled to host the first outdoor track and field invitational this afternoon, beginning at 4:15. The host Arrows will welcome 12 area teams, including defending Southwest Wisconsin Conference boys and girls champion Platteville, Belmont, Boscobel, Cuba City, Darlington, De Soto, Dodgeville, Fennimore, Prairie du Chien, River Valley, Southwestern and Viroqua.

 

Cassville Six Rivers Meet, Thursday, April 12, 4:15 p.m.

     Cassville will host Benton/Shullsburg, Black Hawk, North Crawford, Pecatonica/Argyle, Potosi and River Ridge in a seven-team meet this afternoon.

 

PREP BASEBALL: 

     A number of teams will hit the field Thursday afternoon for non-conference competition. Here is a look at the area scheduled games.

     Dodgeville, at Riverdale, 4:45 p.m.

     Highland at Barneveld (DH), 4:30 p.m.

     Boscobel at Darlington, 4:30 p.m.

     Southwestern at Fennimore, 4:30 p.m.

     Cuba City at Iowa–Grant, 4:30 p.m.

     Prairie du Chien at La Crosse Central, 4:30 p.m.
