Men’s Golf League
May 8
Week two of the Men’s Golf League produced better scores and much more competitive matches as the greens, though quick, were true and the weather cooperated nicely to make for an enjoyable night– even though only four golfers were able to break 40.
The match of the night developed between Aric Barnard and Cody Bredeson, as Aric fired four birdies to card a 1-under par 34 and take medalist honors. Not to be outdone, Cody shot 38 to earn a split of the match. John Knellwolf remained as steady as ever with a 2-over 37 and Bryan Black came in with a 38.
Fritz’s Burners took over the league lead with a 4.5-0.5 win over Wagner Pest Control. The “Naked” Hotshots (sorry Ray, I couldn’t resist) dropped into 2nd place with a 3-2 beat down of My Turn Pub and Mexican Cheese slipped past Jean Construction, 4-1, to move into 3rd place.
Legends skinned Avon Locker, 3-2, and Legends II flushed Reilly Plumbing, 4-1. The Club handed DDS a 3-2 loss as did The New Guys over Blackbourn’s.
Flags were won by: Ray Spellman’s tee shot on #1, Bryan Black’s second shot on #3,  Peter Parkinson’s tee shot on #5, Aric Barnard’s chip shot on #6, and long putts on #’s 8 & 9 by Bob “Bullet” Johns and Kyle McCarville.
Aric Barnard led the skin barrage with lone birdies on #1 and #8, and was joined by Peter Jay Parkinson on #2 and Bryan Black on #3. Fritz’s Burners carded the low team net for the night with a solid 137.
