Don and Donna Riess, Platteville, recently celebrated their 50 wedding anniversary with a dinner and dance at the Diamond Jo Casino in Dubuque. Don and Donna were married on June 6, 1964 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Elgin, Minn.
The couple have two children, Kim (Kevin) Sagers and Lisa (Tim) Laughlin. They have seven wonderful grandchildren, Kate and Luke Sagers and Jake, John, Rachel, James and A.J. Laughlin.
Don and Donna were both teachers in the Platteville Public Schools. Don tauught from 1967-1996 at the high school and the middle school. Donna taught special education at Platteville High School from 1969-1978. She then taught third grade at O.E. Gray School from 1978-2000.
