Lutheran Church of Peace in Platteville will host “A Christmas Jubilee Evening,” three Christmas-centered events Friday,. Dec. 13.
The first event is an all-you-can-eat spaghetti supper from 5 to 6:30 p.m. The price is $10 for adults and $5 for children 9 and younger. Tickets can be purchased in advance at the church office, 1345 N. Water St., or at the door. Carryouts will be available. Proceeds from the dinner will go to supporting the 2014 Youth Mission Trip.
The second event is a free concert with guitar master Keith Cooper at 7 p.m.
In the last decade, Cooper has exploded onto the music scene as one of the most virtuosic and charismatic acoustic guitarists. He wears the hats of composer, arranger, music theorist, producer, and is even a noted author of several books on the topic of guitar technique. Keith has performed in more than 300 churches and colleges and done concert tours in North America, Europe, Russia, the Middle East, and South America, while sharing the stage with numerous Grammy-award winning musical acts.
Cooper has successfully carved out an astonishing musical niche of his own. His dedication to the guitar is second to none, which is evidenced during his performances. Many testify that his performances are “jaw-dropping” due to his use of alternate tunings and percussive elements on the body of the guitar, coupled with classic and original melodies.
The final event of the evening will be a Dessert Social that will begin at 8 p.m.
