States first one ton pumpkin
In Gays Mills

John and Merri Barlow have made history this year by growing a state record 2,034-pound Alantic Giant Pumpkin on their Gays Mills property. The pumpkin is currently the second largest in the world for 2015, although there will be other weigh-ins as fall progresses. The Barlows also grew a state record watermelon weighing 214 pounds and a state record squash, weighing 1,161 pounds. John and Merri credit cutting-edge agricultural technology for their success. They use some man-made inseciticide to produce the giant fruits, other wise everything is natural and sustainable.
