Vernon County FSA reminds farmers of July 15 acreage reporting deadline

Kathy Lewison, County Executive Director of the Vernon County Farm Service Agency, wants to remind area farmers that Wednesday, July 15, 2015 is the deadline to report spring planted crop acreages to their local USDA-FSA County Office.

Many of the FSA programs, such as the Agricultural Risk Coverage (ARC) or the Price Loss Coverage (PLC) programs require all cropland acreage of farms enrolled be reported for program eligibility.  Future programs may also require that a crop report be on file, as well.

Producers are reminded that not reporting timely their spring seeded crops prior to the July 15, 2015 deadline may result in paying late-filing fees or possible ineligibility for program payments.

Vernon County producers are encouraged to call the Vernon County FSA office at (608) 637-2183 ext. 2 to set up an appointment as soon as possible.
