Vernon County is represented at the Wisconsin State Fair in West Allis through Aug. 9 with 17 youth and 23 registered Black & White and Red & White Holsteins, Ayrshires, Jerseys and Brown Swiss, and three chaperones.

Their events include showing their dairy cattle Thursday and Friday, a showmanship contest on Saturday, and the Dairyland Youth Celebration on Sunday which includes herdsmanship announcements and the Premier Dairy Exhibitor contest results.

The dairy show is the largest State Fair junior dairy show in the nation with 800 cattle represented from across the State of Wisconsin.

The Vernon County Junior Dairy  exhibit is located in the dairy barn closest to the race track. Stop in and visit the county’s dairy youth if you are at the State Fair through Aug. 9.
