Alcohol is believed to be a factor in a Kickapoo township rollover crash that sent a 51-year-old rural Richland Center man to a Viroqua hospital early Thursday morning.

According to the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office in Viroqua, at 4 a.m., Kevin Fitzpatrick was driving north on Hwy. 131 east of East River Road, when his vehicle went off the road. It overturned and came to rest on its roof.

Fitzpatrick was wearing a seatbelt. He was taken by the Readstown EMS to Vernon Memorial Healthcare in Viroqua.

Also assisting at the scene was the Readstown Fire Department.

The accident remains under investigation.
