Demolition operations at Culver’s Restaurant, 375 E. Business 151, began Feb. 12. Operations were delayed, however, when an excavator being used to remove debris from the site fell into the restaurant’s basement. That required two cranes and a heavy-duty tow truck to remove the excavator Thursday morning. The operator of the excavator was not injured. The building was destroyed in a fire early Nov. 15. Owner Bruce Kroll plans to replace the building, which was the eighth Culver’s in the history of the company, with a new Culver’s designed like the company’s newest store, in Reedsburg.
