Donations are being raised for Platteville’s presentation at the All-America City Awards in Demver June 13–17.
Platteville is one of 20 cities, and the only city in Wisconsin, nominated as an All-America City.
The 2013 awards focus on veterans, entrepreneurship and sustainability. The presentation will be made by Platteville residents, including students from the UW–Platteville PACCE program and a Platteville High School student.
The other finalists are Birmingham, Ala.; Downey, Calif.; Brush, Colorado Springs and Montrose, Colo.; Fort Lauderdale, Miami Lakes and Sarasota County, Fla.; Peoria, Ill.; Owensboro, Ky.; Natchitoches, La.; Canton, N.Y.; Dunn, Garner and Thomasville, N.C.; Folly Beach, S.C.; The Colony, Texas; and Norfolk, Va.
Donations can be sent to All-America City, P.O. Box 780, Platteville, WI 53818, or dorpped off at the Municipal Building in Platteville.
