TIMMY J. REICHLING, of Darlington, has been charged with three counts of sexual exploitation of a child along with several other charges.

A criminal complaint has been signed and filed in Lafayette County Circuit Court against a Darlington man and a registered sex offender that includes a total of 11 charges.
Timmy J. Reichling, age 46, of Darlington was charged with three counts of sexual exploitation of a child, three counts of being a registered sex offender who intentionally photographed a minor without consent, and five counts of being in possession of child pornography, said a press release from Darlington Police Chief Jason King.
These charges are a result of a Darlington Police Department investigation during which Reichling was arrested by Darlington Police on Thursday, August 22, at 9:30 a.m. following a search warrant at his residence, said the press release.
The Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department and Wisconsin Department of Justice’s Division of Criminal Investigation assisted with the search warrant.  This matter remains under investigation by all three agencies.
If convicted of the 11 counts that have been filed, all of which are felonies, Reichling, faces a potential of 255 years imprisonment, said King.
Reichling was in Lafayette County Circuit Court for his initial appearance on Tuesday, August 27 where a bail amount was set for $1 million.
According to King, district attorney Kate Findley argued before the judge that bail should be set high because Reichling poses a threat to the victims in this matter, some who reside in Darlington. The judge concurred.
Reichling is currently being held in the Lafayette County jail.
According to the Wisconsin Circuit Court Access website, Reichling was convicted of three counts of 2nd degree sexual assault by use of force and one count of false imprisonment in 1993 in Green County. A charge of child abuse-intentionally cause harm was dismissed in regards to this case as well.
According to a court of appeals document, these charges were in connection with three sexual assaults of Reichling’s former girlfriend, who was a minor at the time, in Reichling’s car while he possessed a knife.
At the end of the press release King noted, “Reichling enjoys a presumption of innocence until proven guilty in a court of law.”
