Vernon County Sheriff’s deputies and officers from police departments in Hillsboro, La Farge, Readstown, and Viroqua made 152 traffic stops during the High Visibility Enforcement effort July 28-31.

Officers issued 80 citations during traffic stops for speeding, no insurance, seatbelt, and other violations.

The joint enforcement effort was meant to reduce speeding violations, seatbelt violations, inattentive driving and distracted driving. The total amount of enforcement hours was 16 hours per agency.
