Man arrested in bar gets prison

A 20-year-old Rice Lake man arrested in Platteville June 8 was sentenced to two years in prison and four years extended supervision.

Drew Montana Striegel pleaded no contest in Grant County Circuit Court June 30 to two counts of battery by prisoners as a repeater, and one count of resisting an officer as a repeater.

Striegel was arrested on a probation hold after an altercation June 8 around 12:45 a.m. During tavern checks, police were told about a man inside Camaraderie, 65 N. Second St., who was flashing gang signs.

Striegel was charged with battery by prisoners June 23, according to court records.

Striegel was sentenced to one year in prison and three years extended supervision on the battery charges, and one year in prison and one year extended supervision on the resisting charge.

Striegel was serving a three-year extended supervision term on a Barron County charge of battery by prisoners, and a one-year probation term on a Barron County misdemeanor bail jumping charge, according to court records. Striegel’s probation was revoked July 29, and he will have to serve his Grant County sentence after completing the three-year prison term that was stayed in favor of extended supervision, according to court records.
