Pickup strikes two semis

Galeon Eitsert, 43, Gay Mills, was northbound on Highway 61 just north of Byers Road on Monday morning, Nov. 5, when he crossed the centerline and struck two semi trucks.

A 2007 Freightliner semi  pulling an empty flat bed trailer and operated by Patrick Vesey, 26 of Beaver Creek, Ohio, was southbound on 61 followed by a  2007 Freightliner pulling a loaded reefer trailer operated by Raymond Oehl, 30 of North English , Iowa.

Both the Eitsert and Oehl vehicles had heavy damage and were towed from the scene.

Neither of the truck drivers was injured. Eitsert also appeared uninjured and refused treatment.

The Crawford County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by Boscobel Fire & EMS, the Boscobel Police Department, the Crawford County Highway Department, Terry's Tire & Tow, Bob's Towing and Richardson's Trucking.

The accident remains under investigation, according to the sheriff’s department.
