A 35-year-old Platteville man was sentenced to three years probation on 11 misdemeanor theft charges.

Mark L. Mandurano, 1365 Cody Parkway apartment 204, pleaded no contest March 26 to 10 counts of theft of movable property of less than $2,500, and one count of theft in a business setting of less than $2,500.

A felony charge of theft of movable property of $2,500 to $5,000 was dismissed but read in.

Mandurano was ordered to pay $17,248 in court costs and restitution. Mandurano’s probation term includes four months in jail, but the term was stayed until March 26, 2015. Mandurano can petition the court to waive the jail sentence if restitution is paid by then, according to court records.

According to Platteville police, $17,250 was taken from two accounts of Lutheran Church of Peace without authorization since February.

Mandurano was arrested Nov. 9, and, according to police, “admitted to making unauthorized withdrawals from one of the accounts and using the money for personal reasons.”
