A semi hopper trailer was overturned on Highway 14 at the intersection with County B in Coon Township on Oct. 31.

Seth A. Hayes, 28 of Goodhue, Minn. was driving a semi-tractor and hopper trailer, loaded with corn pellets on B, approaching the intersection with 14 when he was unable to stop for the stop sign at the bottom of the hill.  He proceeded out onto 14 and overturned, spilling the load and coming to a final rest against a guardrail. 

Hayes was not injured and was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident.

Assisting at the scene were the Coon Valley Fire Department, Coon Valley Police Department and the Wisconsin State Patrol.

The accident remains under investigation by the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office.
