Suspect in Georgia homicide arrested in Platteville

The suspect in a Savannah, Ga., homicide was arrested in Platteville Wednesday morning.

Tyron Henry, 20, was arrested by U.S. Marshals after a traffic stop at Siemers Street and Madison Street Wednesday morning, according to Platteville police, which assisted in the arrest.

Henry is wanted in connection with the shooting death of Michael Anthony Johnson, 50, in Savannah July 11, according to the Savannah–Chatham Metropolitan Police Department.

Henry was believed to be staying at a house on Alden Avenue, according to Platteville police. After going to the Alden Avenue house, police tracked Henry to a house on Siemers Street. Henry was one of the people in a vehicle that left the Siemers Street house and was stopped by police at Siemers and Madison.

An extradition hearing will be held in Grant County Circuit Court in Lancaster Oct. 5.
