Suspect sought in Avoca armed robbery

Iowa County authorities are looking for a suspect in an armed robbery at the Avoca Easy Stop Wednesday evening.

A male suspect entered the store around 8:13 p.m. and showed a knife to the clerk. The suspect fled the store with an undisclosed amount of money in a vehicle that had been stolen earlier, according to the sheriff's department.

The suspect is described as being tall and slender, wearing a black full-face motorcycle helmet with a dark-colored face shield. The suspect was wearing a blue or green long-sleeved shirt and light colored blue jeans.

The investigation is being conducted by the Iowa County Sheriff's Department and Muscoda police. The Grant and Richland county sheriff's departments and Muscoda police assisted in the investigation.
