A San Antonio, Texas woman started this year similar to how her 2013 ended — facing Platteville building code violations.
Kay Cairns McKenzie, 72, was cited Jan. 14 for an ordinance violation of having a junk or abandoned vehicle stored or parked on premises.
McKenzie was cited nine times in the last four months of 2013 for ordinance violations for property at 495 Irene St.
McKenzie pleaded no contest Oct. 14 to citations for failure to clean outside premises, parking on a lawn area, and junked or abandoned vehicle parked on the premises Oct. 14. McKenzie was fined $200.50 on each charge, according to court records.
McKenzie also was charged with six citation violations for citations issued Sept. 25 and Oct. 10. Those violations were changed to Sean D. McKenzie, 36, 495 Irene St.
Sean McKenzie was convicted Dec. 20 at a court trial of having a junk or abandoned vehicle on premises, and refusing to clean outside premises. McKenzie was acquitted by a jury of a citation of parking on a lawn area in R-1 or R-2 zoning. McKenzie was fined $263.50 per charge.
Then, on Jan. 8, Sean McKenzie was convicted in a court trial of having a junk or abandoned vehicle on premises, parking on a lawn area in R-1 or R-2 zoning, and refusing to clean outside premises. McKenzie was fined $326.50 per charge.
