Two injured in crash, Westby man arrested on OWI offense

A rural Westby man was arrested Aug. 3 following a two-vehicle crash in Christiana township.

Bradley Wedwick, 55, was taken into custody on charges of operating while intoxicated, third offense, causing injury.  If he is charged, he faces a maximum penalty of six years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.

According to a Vernon County Sheriff’s Office news release, Wedwick was northbound on Saugstad Road, approaching the intersection of US Hwy. 14 and proceeded into the intersection, striking a westbound vehicle driven by Jerri Olson, 32, of Holmen.

Olson was transported to Vernon Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A passenger in her vehicle, Eric Olson, 31, also of Holmen, was treated and released at the scene.

All involved were  wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.

Assisting at the scene were the Westby Fire Department, Westby First Responders, Tri State Ambulance.

The incident remains under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office.
