Grant County sheriff’s deputies and Potosi police issued “several” citations for underage drinking after a bar check at the Whitetail Bluff Campground & Resort in Cassville Saturday night.

The bar check was prompted by an anonymous report of a possible underage drinking party, according to the sheriff’s department. Deputies encountered 29 people in the bar, many not of legal drinking age who had been drinking, the sheriff’s department said.

Chase Pebworth, 19, Cassville, is being cited for failing to prevent underage consumption and underage drinking. Pebworth was hosting the party at his parents’ bar, the sheriff’s department said.

Several other underage drinking citations are being issued, the sheriff’s department said.
