Vernon County authorities seek help in case of damaged signs

Vernon County authorities are asking for help after road signs in Sterling and Franklin townships were pulled out of the ground on the night of Dec. 7.

According to a news release from Vernon County Crime Stoppers in Viroqua, multiple signs, mainly stop signs, were damaged. It appears as the suspect or suspects wrapped a chain around the signs and pulled them out of the ground.

“It is our hope that details of this actual case from police records may cause someone to remember and report what they know about the person or persons involved,” according to the crime stoppers press release.

Tipsters may be eligible for cash rewards of up to $1,000 and will remain anonymous.
