Vernon County authorities are searching for a 24-year-old Stoddard woman who left the Vernon County Jail in Viroqua Jan. 1 on Huber work release  privileges and did not return.

According to a press release from Vernon County Crime Stoppers of Viroqua, Leah Morgan is serving a sentence for theft. She was last seen Jan. 1 on Miller St. in La Crosse.

The Vernon County Broadcaster in Viroqua reported that, according to the Wisconsin Circuit Court database, she was sentenced Dec. 23 to four months in jail with work release privileges following a plea agreement with prosecutors stemming from a July 2012 felony charge of theft of moveable property.

Anyone with information on Morgan’s whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers.
