TOWN OF EDEN — An 18-year-old Rewey man was injured after a crash on U.S. 18 Friday morning.

Iowa County Sheriff’s Deputy Brad Hill arrived at the crash scene, on 18 at Blue River Road, around 6:05 a.m. to find that the car had overturned several times and came to rest in a field with the driver still inside.

Hill and a passing motorist pulled the driver from the vehicle before it became engulfed in flames, according to the sheriff’s department.

Dakota L. Michek was transported by Montfort EMS to Upland Hills Health in Dodgeville, then was flown by MedFlight helicopter to UW Hospital in Madison for treatment of injuries.

According to the sheriff’s department, speed and alcohol are believed to have been factors in the crash.

The Cobb Fire Department and First Responders assisted the sheriff’s department at the crash scene. The crash is under investigation.
