The Darlington School Board approved plans for both an operational referendum and a debt referendum at their last meeting, held on Monday, Nov. 2.
The board voted to put a $2.2 million recurring operational referendum on the spring 2016 ballot, and a debt referendum on the fall 2016 ballot. At this point the board has not finalized an amount for the fall debt referendum, but will be working on that in coming meetings.
The board also voted to hold a public forum regarding the proposed referendums on Wednesday, Dec. 2 at 7 p.m. in the high school auditorium during which district taxpayers can find out more about the district’s need for the referendums.
