Fennimore native selected as principal
Boone Tollefson, new middle/high school principal

Fennimore’s school district will keep a native son close after choosing him to succeed current middle and high school principal Dan Bredeson. Boone Tollefson will take on the mantle of administrative leadership this summer, July 1. Currently, Boone serves as the Dean of Students, School Assessment Coordinator, and Head Varsity Football Coach.

Boone is the son of Jim and Rhonda Tollefson. He graduated from Fennimore High School in 2000, then went to UW-Madison where he began to pursue a degree in landscape architecture. A year in, he knew it wasn’t the right fit. It took another year to realize education was his interest. Shortly after, in Jan. 2003, Boone transferred to UW-Platteville to complete a degree in education.

Boone knew that his ties to Fennimore were important. He took on the role of volunteer coaching with Fennimore’s football program in 2002. And when the time came to student teach, while he didn’t manage a placement in Fennimore, he wasn’t far afield with a placement in Lancaster School District. It coalesced with graduation when he found himself newly employed with Fennimore School District as a social studies teacher, focusing on U.S. and World History, as well as becoming the JV football coach.
