Hunter safety classes to begin
Held at Gays Mills Community Commerce Center

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources seven-week, 14-hour hunter safety course will be offered in Gays Mills beginning Monday, January 7 from 7-9 p.m.

Classes will be held at the Gays Mills Community Center located at State Highway 131 North in Gays Mills. Class length will vary each week.

Anyone born after January 1, 1973 and wanting to hunt in the State of Wisconsin is required to participate in the Hunter Safety course. The class is open to all and there are no age restrictions. However, anyone younger than 12 years of age may not qualify for WDNR small game hunting privileges.

Registration is at the first class on January 7 and costs $10.

Students will be required to have a WDNR Identification Number, which may be obtained by calling the WDNR toll free number 888-963-7463 between 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
