HyPro makes donation to PHS Scholarship Fund

HyPro Inc. — Platteville Operations has joined the growing list of local businesses that are active and vocal supporters of the PHS Scholarship Fund.

“HyPro is a unique organization,” said Chad Lueder, regional operations manager for HyPro Inc. “Our company believes in giving our local youth an opportunity to develop and excel in our workplace with the sky being the limit of their potential on our team. We have been active with the PHS cooperative work experience program and have numerous examples of current PHS graduate team members who have grown in their careers at HyPro.  We support post-secondary education and know its importance to bringing new skills and knowledge to our team.”

HyPro Inc. is headquartered in Waterford and celebrates its 45th year of business in 2014. With 200 team members, Platteville Operations is in its 16th year and specializes in precision machining for the off road markets. Customers are predominantly involved in agriculture, construction, and the military and include companies such as Caterpillar, John Deere, and General Electric.

“It is important for local businesses to support our PHS graduates as they pursue education for their careers,” said advisory board member Dean Isaacson. “We appreciate the leadership of the HyPro team in making this commitment to our youth. They join a number of local businesses and individuals including Block, Scott & Heenan; Esterline/Avista; Kopp, McKichan, LLP; Livingston State Bank; Mound City Bank; the Platteville Development Group; Tricor Insurance; Ubersox; Woodward Printing Services/The Shopping News; Tim and Chris Budden and Cindy Tang who have challenged our local community to match their gifts.”

The PHS Scholarship Fund’s mission is to expand access to post-secondary education for the students of the Platteville School District. The Fund fulfills this mission primarily by providing scholarships. Since its establishment in 2010, the Fund has awarded scholarships to 100 students with a total value of $113,050. The Fund board has set a fund-raising goal of $70,000 to be given as scholarships to the PHS Class of 2014.

The PHS Scholarship Fund is affiliated with the Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin, a tax exempt 501(c)(3) public charity.
