Iowa–Grant High School has qualified for the state Academic Decathlon contest in March.

Iowa–Grant is one of 20 teams that will compete in the state Academic Decathlon at the Glacier Canyon Conference Center Wilderness Resort in Wisconsin Dells March 14–15.

Iowa–Grant advanced out of November’s local competition, involving 115 high schools statewide, and January’s regional competition, involving 60 high schools statewide, to qualify for state.

Each high school team consists of nine full-time students and is made up of three Honor (3.75 to 4.00 GPA), three students in the Scholastic (3.00-3.74 GPA) and three in the Varsity (0-2.99 GPA) categories. All nine students write all the tests and the top two scores in each category determine the team score.

The 2012–13 theme is Russia, with teams competing in the subjects of Russian art, economics, language and literature, mathematics, music, science and social science. A Super Quiz Relay will be held March 15.
