State Superintendent Tony Evers praised Jefferson Elementary School of Richland Center for receiving Wisconsin Title I School of Recognition honors for the 2016-2017 school year during a recent ceremony at the State Capitol in Madison.

Evers welcomed Richland School District Administrator Jarred Burke and Jefferson School Principal Amy Hardy to the recognition event, which also honored other state high-achieving schools.

“Our Schools of Recognition are staffed by dedicated teachers,” Evers said. “Their success is something to celebrate. It serves as an example of the importance of schools, families and communities working together to ensure that every child graduates ready for college and careers.”

Hardy said, “We are thrilled that our school has again been awarded…in the award criteria of ‘Beating the Odds’. This is a recognition that is celebrated by our educators, students, families and community.”
