In November, Neal Wilkins Early Learning Center principal ReNah Reuter was named the school district’s director of student achievement and intervention services.

The school board then decided to name Westview Elementary School principal Don Shaw the principal of Neal Wilkins as well.

Earlier this year, the school board undid the November decision and decided to fill the Neal Wilkins principal position after district administration decided that Neal Wilkins needed its own principal.

That principal will be Anne Palzkill, currently the elementary principal and director of special education with the Mineral Point School District.

The School Board unanimously approved her hiring Monday night.

Palzkill’s hiring leaves one principal vacancy in a school year that has seen two principals with new jobs. In addition to Reuter, Platteville Middle School principal Lisa Finnegan became the school district’s director of assessment and technology coordinator. Finnegan was replaced as principal by Platteville High School teacher Jason Julius.

PHS principal Jeff Jacobson is leaving at the end of the school year to become the Dodgeville School District administrator.
