The Boscobel School Board met for its December meeting on Monday.

One interesting item on the agenda was the resolution to move to the Six Rivers Conference from the SWAL. The long anticipated move was once again tabled by the Board due to some “sticky language with the WIAA,” as reported by District Administrator Greg Bell.

Bell shared with the board that the WIAA Board of Control will consider football-only conferences at their meeting in January.

“Deb Hauser from the WIAA informed us she is focusing on this plan before looking at our conference realignment request. I plan to attend the meeting at the end of January,” Bell noted in his letter to the board.  “What it told me is that we are starting to rattle some chains. I’m talking about 20 years of struggling (with the football program). We can’t keep letting our kids get pummeled. We have to protect our kids; as much as we like the SWAL, we have to protect them.”

No action was taken on the resolution to move to the Six Rivers Conference.
