The Wonewoc-Center School District will again receive funding through a grant to run the Before and After School Program known as BASE.

The program started last year, and offered services in the morning from 7:30-8 a.m. and again after school from 3:15-5:30 p.m.  Students in grades K-8 were eligible to attend.  The program ran Monday through Thursday.

The program in the morning this year will be a homework help club.  Teachers and or parents may request their child be in the before school program.  Teachers will monitor the room and help student’s complete homework or assist students in doing a homework check-up.  Elementary students may use this time to read to an older student or staff member.

The after-school program will begin with a snack and a short recess, followed by reading and math intervention, homework help, and then an enrichment time.

Last year, students became involved in many different activities.  In addition, they took field trips to bowling alley, swimming, the Dells Theater, etc.

This year, we have added our art teacher (Mrs. Danahy) and our instrumental music teacher (Ms. Coggon) to our after school staff.

Students may enroll in the morning program, after school program or both programs.  Students may also enroll all four days or a variety of one, two or three days.

If interested in having your child involved in the BASE program, you can pick up registration forms at the District Office, or you will find the registration form on the district website, www.wc.k12.wi.us.

If you have any questions about the program please contact the District Administrator (Dr. Sharon Ennis) at 608 464-3165 ext. 150 or e-mail her at ennisha@wc.k12.wi.us.
