As part of a Listening Post Tour that will make stops in several communities across the state this summer, AARP Wisconsin is inviting Platteville area residents to learn more about the organization and engage in discussions about how to make their community even better.

The Listening Post Tour stop will be at Benvenutos Italian Grill, 1621 Progressive Parkway, Wednesday, Aug. 5 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

“We are excited to meet many of our members and other folks in Platteville who care so much about their community,” said AARP Wisconsin State Director Sam Wilson. “We want to hear from local residents while also sharing all the ways AARP is working in Wisconsin to enhance the quality of life for all of us as we age.

“We want to chat directly with Platteville citizens and answer any questions they might have about our policy work, volunteer opportunities, educational activities, or anything else they’d like to know about our work.”

Those who visit the tour stop will have an opportunity to use a special marker to write comments directly on the AARPtour van on what they would do to make their community an even better place to live. AARP members will also be given a $5 discount for lunch at Benvenutos valid only Aug. 5.
