Antiques appraiser in Platteville Feb. 13

Antiques appraiser Mark Moran of Iola will host a free Antiques Roadshow-style event open to the entire community in the Platteville Municipal Building Auditorium Saturday, Feb. 13 from 1 to 4 p.m.

Moran has edited many antiques publications and is the author or co-author of more than 25 books on antiques and collectibles. Moran bought and sold antiques for more than 30 years, specializing in vintage folk art, Americana, and fine art. He has been actively appraising antiques for over 20 years. 

Moran will appraise art, advertising, books, instruments, toys, small pieces of furniture, sports memorabilia, and other items, but not any weapons, Nazi memorabilia, coins/money, fine jewelry, or Beanie Babies. 

Pre-registration is required to have Moran appraise an item. No registration is required for attendance. There is no fee, though donations are appreciated.

Moran will also available to make home visits for people with big things, fragile things, or many items. House calls are $75 per hour and there is no mileage charge if within 10 miles of the event.
