Art gallery holiday reception to be held Friday
in Gays Mills
art show pottery

The Gifts of Art Holiday Show opening reception at the Gays Mills Arts Collective Gallery is this Friday, Nov. 22 from 5 to 8 p.m.

“To receive a gift that is a handmade piece of art makes one feel special, and to give a gift of art has a special warmth,” said art gallery administrator Lila Marmel. “Hopefully, many will experience that unique warmth because of this show at the gallery. The pieces are in place for a beautiful holiday season at the Mercantile Center in Gays Mills.”

For this show, the artists are including a wide range of objects and paintings to provide gifts of art that are affordable. Exhibiting for the first time in the gallery are new members Dan Nedrelo, a wildlife and nature photographer, and Kay Campbell, whose pottery shop in Ferryville is now closed for the season. In addition, these artist members are also showing their work in the holiday show:  Jeff Adams, Ken Anderson, Sandra Berger, Alvin Felch, Rick Kriebel, Christine Myhr, Luke Russell, Joe Schwarte and Kathy Shepherd.  Each artist may bring in additional pieces through the course of the show to keep it changing and dynamic.

The gallery's winter hours are Friday 2 to 5 p.m., Saturday and Sunday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Gays Mills Arts Collective Gallery is located in the Mercantile Center on Highway 131 near the marketplace and the Gays Mills Community Commerce Center.
