Wenzel Amusements began rolling into town with their carnival rides Monday and by Tuesday morning workers were assembling a key feature of every county fair – the carnival.

Each year, the carnival offers wristband specials offering unlimited rides for a specific time and day. This year’s wristband specials are:

Thursday – 6 to 10 p.m.

Friday – 1 to 5 p.m.

Saturday – 1 to 5 p.m.

Sunday – noon to 4 p.m.

The wristbands will cost $18 for unlimited rides during those hours. Wenzel Amusements also offers a Mega Pass covering all days and times for $50.

Fair admission

The fair admission fee includes grandstand events and parking. Daily admission passes can be purchased for $6 for Thursday through Sunday.

Grandstand events this year include: Southwest Puller Truck and Tractor Show on Thursday evening at 7 p.m.; the musical group Six Appeal and Blessed FMX Stunt Show on Friday at 7 p.m.; the Antique Tractor Pull at noon on Saturday; Hard Hitters Demolition Derby at 7 p.m. on Saturday; the Crawford County Amateur Talent Competition Show & Music by Class of ‘62 Featuring The Surf Boys at noon on Sunday; and the Ranch Rodeo and Bull Riding at 1 p.m. on Sunday.

A gate will be set up on the north side of the fairgrounds for those who choose to walk to the fairgrounds rather than park on site.

We’ll see you at the fair!
