Co. P to close for Dam Challenge Triathlon

The 12th annual Dam Challenge Triathlon will be held on the Kickapoo Valley Reserve (KVR) Oct. 4.

Expect a busy weekend with 500 racers and over 250 volunteers and spectators.

Spectators are allowed to ride shuttles from Bridge 14 Transition Area to Bridge 7 for the race start. If driving a personal vehicle, suggested river viewing spots are Bridge 7, 8 and 9, canoe landing 10 and 12, and mowed path north of Bridge 14 Transition Area. Parking at canoe start is available along Highway 131, north of Bridge 7, past guardrail. Co. Hwy. P west from Old 131 Trail to Weister Creek Rd. will be closed to through traffic during the hours of 9 a.m. to approximately 4 p.m. Detour maps will be distributed at key intersections.

The road bike route has been modified and will go up Wolfe Valley Rd., left on Sandhill Rd., left on Irish Ridge Rd., left on Parker Rd., Dell Rd, and left on Co. Hwy P, and back to Bridge 14. The bike route is open to traffic.
