Crawford County to announce Conservation Awards in LaRiviere Park
2019 Consvtn awards
HOW MUCH DIFFERENCE a year can make. It is once again time for the Crawford County Conservation Awards, but with no County Fair, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Land Conservation Department has had to come up with another way to honor county citizens for their conservation work this year. In the photo above are pictured the 2019 award winners.

CRAWFORD COUNTY - The Crawford County Conservation Awards Ceremony will take place at La Riviere Park in Prairie du Chien on Wednesday, August 19, at 7 p.m. Masks will be required for all participants, and social-distancing will be in place for the event.

The awards banquet typically is held annually at the Crawford County Fair. The fair was cancelled this year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

To get to La Riviere Park:

• from Highway 35, continue south to the stoplights in front of the Piggly Wiggly/Dunkin’ Donuts. At the stoplights, take a left onto Vineyard Road. After you travel approximately one-and-on-half miles on Vineyard Road, you’ll see the sign for the park. Take the gravel road back to the parking area.

• from Highway 27, turn onto Irish Ridge Road, and then take a right onto Vineyard Road. Travel down the hill, and when you get to the horse camp, continue approximately another 100 yards, and you will see the park sign on the left. Take the gravel road back to the parking area.
