Community Players of Southwestern Wisconsin will soon present “Mary Poppins.”

Come see Mary Poppins fly and Bert the chimney sweep walk on air! One of the most popular Disney movies of all time is capturing hearts in a whole new way: as a practically perfect musical! Based on the books by P.L. Travers and the classic Walt Disney film, Disney and Cameron Mackintosh’s “Mary Poppins” delighted Broadway audiences for over 2,500 performances.

Mary Poppins and Bert take the children on many magical and memorable adventures, but Jane and Michael aren’t the only ones Mary Poppins has a profound effect upon. Even grown-ups can learn a lesson or two from the nanny who advises, “Anything can happen if you let it.” Songs include “Spoonful of Sugar,” “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious,” “Feed the Birds,” “Let’s Go Fly a Kite” and “Step in Time.”

Mary Poppins, an enchanting mixture of irresistible story, unforgettable songs, breathtaking dance numbers, and astonishing stagecraft, will be performed at the Richland Center High School auditorium, 1996 U.S. 14, Richland Center, directed by Andrew Sharp.

Performance times are: Friday, July 31, and Saturday, Aug. 1, at 7 p.m.; Sunday, Aug. 2, at 1:30 p.m.; Thursday, Aug. 6, Friday, Aug. 7, and Saturday, Aug. 8, at 7 p.m.; and Sunday, Aug. 9, at 1:30 p.m.
