Viroqua Community Theatre announces auditions for “On Golden Pond” by Ernest Thompson.  Aug. 25-26, 6-8:30 p.m. at The Ark, 401 E. Jefferson, Viroqua.  Please use the far right entrance (up the stairs).

This play was the basis for the popular film from 1981 starring Henry Fonda, Jane Fonda and Katherine Hepburn.  The play is very similar to the movie version, but is all played in the cabin on Golden Pond.   VCT will stage this production in the “black box” style, using only the furnishings and props necessary to carry the story, putting more emphasis on character and plot development.

Actors will be reading parts for:  One man playing 80, one woman playing 69, one woman 30-50 years old, two men 30-50 years old, one boy 10-15 years old playing 13.

Performance dates are Nov. 6-9.  There will be cold readings from the script.  If you like, bring a monologue that highlights your acting abilities.  Please bring your calendar of obligations up through the performance dates and be able to tell us about your theater background.
