Family Connections of Southwest Wisconsin will present its annual On the Move at Legion Park Friday from 5 to 7 p.m.

The event, which will be held rain or shine, will include fire trucks, police cars, ambulances, construction equipment, farm machinery, and a school bus.

The event includes the Once Upon a Book Drive, which will collect quality children’s books to distribute to Southwest Wisconsin early education programs and families in need. The drive will accept new or gently used books with educational, appropriate content for children to age 12.

The Supporting Families Together Association, which is sponsoring the book drive, is collecting books through the end of August. SFTA’s goal is to collect at least 1,000 books. Books can be brought to the event or to Family Connections, 110 W. Adams St., Platteville.

The suggested On the Move donation is $2 per child to $4 per family.
